about us

This vibrant school provides a model of Islamic education in New Zealand. Its establishment is the culmination of a commitment to Islamic education that grew out of aspirations of ‘Tomorrow’s Schools’. It is a response to the possibilities for self determination in pursuing education relevant to the Muslim community and provides Muslim parents with an alternative educational opportunity for their daughters.

This first Islamic College for girls in New Zealand represents a huge step forward in promoting education for young women.

The College draws students from all over Auckland and has been established in response to the increased demand for a safe and caring Islamic environment for girls.

Since opening in 2001 Zayed College for Girls continues to break new ground as the only girls’ secondary school for Muslims in New Zealand.

It represents the aspirations of a community wishing to preserve its identity, language and culture. Zayed College for Girls provides a focus for many Islamic cultural and educational activities in the community.
